Types of escape ladders

Escape ladders without safety basket - up to 3m high

An escape ladder without a safety basket is an upright ladder with a maximum climbing height of 3m from ground level. This solution consists of elements bolted together. In addition, each component of the escape ladder up to 3m is interchangeable. This makes it possible to complete a ladder of any length.

Facilities where the difference in level does not exceed 3m do not require basket ladders.

Escape ladders with safety basket - 3 to 10 m high

An escape ladder fitted with a safety basket is used when there is a difference in level of more than 3m to overcome. This is required by building regulations. A safety basket is also known as a riser or backstop. An escape ladder with a safety basket consists of components bolted together in such a way that it meets all regulatory requirements.

The ladder can be permanently attached to the wall of buildings, to the roof of halls and warehouses, to machinery, silos, chimneys and wherever access is required.

Escape ladders with safety basket and foot rest - over 10 m in height

For entrances with a difference in level of more than 10 m, the option of fitting a rest platform to allow a rest while climbing the ladder is required by law. The resting platform can be fixed in the form of a two-speed ladder or, if this is not possible, a folding aluminium flap inside the protective basket of a single-speed ladder. These ladders are systemic and bolted together from segments of the appropriate length. They can be fitted with handrails and a step down or a walkway platform over the attic.

Non-slip rungs for ladders

All types of our ladder rungs show a high anti-slip class.

The ladder rungs we offer can be supplied in steel, galvanised steel, stainless steel and aluminium. Manufactured from 2 mm thick sheets. The rungs can be cut to individual dimensions.

Material

The ladder rungs are made as standard from 30x30x2mm channel section in s235 steel, which gives a firm grip when climbing the ladder, while not adding unnecessary weight, maintaining the desired rigidity while meeting all standards.

Perforation

Our anti-slip, single-row rungs are perforated to maximise the grip of footwear preventing slipping, which would result in a fall. The embossed patterns provide good grip, so they are used wherever good anti-slip properties are required.
In addition, the perforation reduces the build-up of snow and water on the step, making the ladder rung safe to use during frosty weather.

Cutouts

The cut-outs (scallops) at the ends of our ladder rungs play a special role during the galvanising process, so that the galvanising reaches every nook and cranny and the excess is not trapped in the corners, which could cause the ladder to rust or lose its aesthetics.

Application

The ladder pins we sell are a semi-finished product for the further production of various types of ladders. Ladder rungs must be welded or bolted in accordance with the standard.

Legal requirements

In accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Infrastructure of 12 April 2002 on the technical conditions to be met by buildings and related equipment, their location and development, access to all rooms and buildings must be provided for the periodic operation of machinery and equipment and the inspection and maintenance of the technical condition of the building. Ladders, permanently fixed to the structure, can be used as accesses and passages between the different levels.
Our ladder rungs meet the requirements of the Ordinance, in particular §101 of the Ordinance.
